Cheney Unleashed: Shocking Revelations on GOP's Post-2020 Turmoil Exposed
However, McCarthy's political introspection is met with a thought-provoking counter from Liz Cheney, a former member of McCarthy's Republican leadership team. In her forthcoming book, Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning, Cheney delves into President Trump's post-2020 election machinations and her singular role in resisting them.
Scheduled for official release next week, the book has already stirred discussions, especially regarding Cheney's portrayal of McCarthy and other former colleagues. According to book excerpts obtained by CNN, Cheney accuses McCarthy of "cowardice," asserting that he failed to stand up to Trump despite privately acknowledging Biden's victory. Notably, she claims that McCarthy even relayed Trump's admission of the election outcome to her.
Cheney highlights McCarthy's public denial of Biden's win, a stark contradiction to his private acknowledgment, and criticizes his post-Capitol riot actions. Despite condemning the violence on the House floor, McCarthy joined party members who opposed certifying electors from states won by Biden, a move that could have triggered a contingent election in the House.
The CNN excerpts not only focus on McCarthy but also criticize Republicans at large, labeling them as "enablers and collaborators" who aligned with Trump's false claims. Cheney doesn't spare McCarthy's successor, Mike Johnson of Louisiana, and lambasts both for their roles in supporting Trump's post-election legal challenges.
Cheney reveals her astonishment at McCarthy's post-riot visit to Mar-a-Lago, questioning the decision given the gravity of the events. In contrast, her treatment of Johnson, though critical, is comparatively dismissive, highlighting his role in supporting Trump's legal challenges after the 2020 election.
The excerpts shed light on the internal conflicts within the GOP, emphasizing the deep divisions that emerged post-2020. While the book primarily critiques McCarthy and others for their responses to Trump's actions, it underscores broader concerns about the party's direction and its alignment with Trump's narrative.
Cheney's book arrives at a time when the GOP is grappling with internal challenges, and her revelations provide a critical perspective on key decisions during a tumultuous period, potentially shaping the party's trajectory moving forward.

ReplyDelete“I admire her for standing up to Trump, though, in the process, she even lost her own seat. But I have no respect or love for Dick Cheney, her father, the architect of the 2003 Iraq invasion.”
“She has always been anti-Trump and hated his guts like Peloci. The fact now is she is extremely bitter because Trump’s diehard voters have expelled her from her Congress seat in the past election and she can’t be more bitter. She unsuccessfully sided with the Democrats to impeach Trump and now one can read her memoir with nothing else but her embarrassment for losing her seat. She is no different than her father Mr. Dick Cheney.”
